You were expecting maybe daffodils? Well, so was I. The yard is full of them. Sadly it was cold and rainy all day Sunday and i just didn't feel like going outside long enough to cut some. So, you will have to be satisfied with the "leftovers" from this past week.
Mitchell came home with my favorite tulips last weekend. He had searched out the tightest buds, so they are still pretty after a whole week.
Fortunately, the hellebores are still going strong and I cut a new bouquet every week.
How can you not love them? You can't!
Thanks to Jane at Small But Charming for hosting today's flower house tour. If you haven't visited her, please be sure to hop over and see who else is playing this month.
Nothing says spring better than tulips but I'm very impressed with your hellebores. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say I had daffodils out in my yard. They're just peeking their heads out of the soil and with a snowstorm expected tonight, I'm sure they're still a few weeks away.
Good morning! Guess someone slept in this cold and snowy? morning.
ReplyDeleteI awoke to flurries and cold winds.
Much better to come and visit you in your flower filled house.
Stay warm.
xo Jane
Snowed here yesterday, too. Wet and slushy - yuck! Who scared spring back into the hole?
Deletepretty ones! We have rain around here (in Spain) too :(
ReplyDeleteWhy can I not remember to plant some hellebores? Yours are gorgeous and every spring I wish I had some.
ReplyDeleteThose pink tulips are charming, and the hellebores stunning! I'm not sure when they would bloom up here in Minnesota, but I really must give them a try sometime.
ReplyDeleteDon't know about Minnesota, but it's certainly worth a try. Imagine how pretty they would be with all your snow.
DeleteOh the hellebores are gorgeous. I never see them here in Ontario. Such a shame because the colors are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteDon't know what their range is or, really, what your weather is like. I assume colder than ours (north!), but it may not be. Might be worth a try. They might need more sun "up" there.
DeleteI just have this thing about tulips, it goes with cheese, and blond braids and a funny white hat :-). The hellebores are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI have a life-sized picture of that funny white hat!
DeleteLovely tulips - and your hellebores match mine! x
ReplyDeleteThose hellebore are amazing--moody beauty.
ReplyDeletePink tulips .... a favorite! The hellebores are stunning... I wonder if these lovelies will grow in South Georgia? I don't think I have ever seen them... but then, perhaps I have! Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteI was told once that hellebors are native to parts of Africa. I think Georgia might be a breeze after that. Maybe you should try ... just provide some afternoon shade?
Deletethanks for the visit.
Those tulips still look great after a full week in a vase.
ReplyDeleteA yard full of daffodils?
Sounds wonderful!
My new obsession, hellebores. Those are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIf they like your location, they are ridiculously easy to grow. Ours seed thousands every year and I just let them go. They do have to be cleaned up twice a year and that is a bit messy (and hard on the arms!) but well worth the time and effort.
DeleteLove the pink tulips and the wonderful helebores. We must get some of those added to our spring flowers. They are just so striking!
ReplyDeleteThe Hellebores are heavenly, and the pink tulips combined with your pretty wall colour, are so fresh and springlike. Lovely! Linda x
