...on which I join the chorus of, "It's too soon!"
On March 20 last year. Today they are all gone. |
The tulips are starting to open.
I was planning on mid-April to May. Were you? |
Last year they waited until April 3. This year I've already cut this plant once for the house. |
Dogwood and creeping phlox seem to have kept to a normal calendar, tho. Somehow that's comforting. Am finally starting to feel ok in all this warm air.
Daffodils already come and gone? That IS early! I love the anemone and its color. How beautiful and cheerful.
ReplyDeleteToday I found a penstemon flowering in the snow. Talk about confused. In spite of the cold, I think the plants are happy with the moisture here.
My daffodils are gone as well. My white dogwoods are in full bloom while the pink and red are just budding. Let's keep our finger crossed for the rest of the season. Hang in there. Bonnie
ReplyDeleteWhite dogwood is dying to open - may be fully open tomorrow. Redbud is open everywhere and the earliest azaleas have color in the buds. You will probably have roses next week!
DeleteWent to the tidal basin on Saturday night...probably 90% open. March 17th.
ReplyDeleteCrazy Dems and there global warming conspiracies!

So glad you figured out whom to blame! By the time Easter gets here, we will be wearing bikinis to the egg hunt! xo
DeleteSo, I just had this whole conversation with our landscaper guy today (who was there to cut down a branch from our tree because it was interfering with our patio umbrella...I swear I love the Earth and drive a Prius, unless it interferes with outdoors dining) and he said they have been SWAMPED because spring came so soon. They weren't ready for it and now everything is blooming and they can't handle the workload because they hadn't brought the extra summer help on yet.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I seriously fear for my body temperature come July. If this is March....oh lawdy.
What a beautiful garden. I love that we've had an early Spring in NC and can hardly wait for the first bloom on my roses!
