  1. This is Spring! How lovely to have so much in bloom. I can just smell that heavenly honeysuckle. At least mine is in bloom, in spite of last night's frost. No June here right now (but wait until the end of the week).

  4. This post reminds me of this conversation between me and Mama Virgo while she was visiting over the weekend. (We were playing bocce ball in the backyard).
    Neal: What's that plant?
    Me: I have no idea.
Mama Virgo: It's a variegated (spelling?) eucalyptus.
Me: (slowly turning to look at Mom) You're just making that up.
Mama Virgo: (smiling) Well...it IS variegated.
Me: How do you know that's not just some plant disease?
Mama Virgo: Because that's what variegated looks like.

So, we have deduced that there is a variegated SOMETHING in the backyard. Also, honeysuckle. But not the native kind. It's not nearly that gorgeous.

  5. Iris, in April? Crazy. So many pretty blooms! Spring is slowly unfurling here in New England. Very slowly...
