Flowers in the House

The garden is a joy this summer - if only I had time to enjoy it!

A mix from the cutting garden - the last of the glads ( which like everything else have bloomed way too early.  They are reliable for July 4th, but this year are nearly gone now.)

An interesting group of callas.  These lilies all came from the same three bulbs more than 12 years ago.  I have divided the clumps and moved them several times and now what started as a medium pink is mostly pale pink with the occasional very dark blossom.  None of them are the original color.  Who knows?

And, the first of the garden phlox.  The spicy scent is everywhere - divine.
Thanks to Jane for making me pick up my keyboard again.  Lots of excuses, not any good reasons.  Sometimes you just need a break!

Hop over to Jane's house to visit with all the others who are sharing today.

  1. Yay Webb, so glad to see you here!

I have just planted my first calla lily and already see color changes in the first week!

Your phlox are weeks ahead of mine and I'm looking forward to that scent.

Don't be working so hard you forget to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

  8. Glad to see you back! I was wondering if work had you swamped.

The phlox are my favorite. All flowers should smell good, don't you think?

  9. The callas look great with the vase, furniture and the room - all work well together. Nice job.

  10. Webb, Everything is lovely. My garden phlox has bloomed and faltered. The blooms are pretty, but the foliage is wilted. I don't think it gets enough air circulation. Have a wonderful weekend. Bonnie

  11. I seriously cannot believe the green thumb you have. I killed 2 plants just this week alone. Neal says "I think they have something" and all I could say was, "They have something alright..they have ME." But one survived. So my record is 1 in 3 as of right now. I'm going to Lowe's tomorrow to give it another go.

Also, cross-polination is a crazy thing. My dad has a rose bush and he's caring for one of ours. Apparently our rose bush has turned his pink. It's probably the only pink thing he owns.

  12. I love the shades of pinks of all your flowers. Also, those calla lilies are amazing. I want to grow bee balm too, but haven't had luck in this garden with it. Funny, my next door neighbors have an amazing bed of them.

    Have a great week!

  14. Thanks to all of you for coming by. Fortunately, I posted very early in the morning, before the storm took out our power ... for two days! What did Roseanne Rosannadanna say? "It's always something."

Hope to get back to posting more often in a couple more weeks. love to all.
